Blog On Crochet

Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.

Sombody post a question on my facebook crochet group:

Is it expensive to start the Crochet hobby?

To start crocheting is not expensive. My best recommendation is to go to  any of the art & craft shop (say, Daiso Art section) to purchase a crochet hook and a ball of yarn of your favourite color. Voila! You can start this interesting and addictive hobby rightaway.

Like any of the addictive hobby, once you get hooked on, the purchase comes in bundle. You may want to get a bettle grip crochet hook ( only recently I’ve paid myself to own this clover brand crochet needles that I have no regret of purchasing)  , you want to experiment on more types of yarn: arcylic, cotton, bamboo, milk cotton, etc) or different strand of yarn ( 4 ply, 5ply, 8ply, etc). And the color of yarn that you need. Then comes the different crochet hook sizes, tapestry needle to sew, patterns to purchase, etc etc etc.

There comes to the most important question: how to learn this craft that has started since century ago?

There are quite a lot of tutorial online: Facebook, You Tube, free ebook. that you can choose to suit your prefered style of learning. Do you prefer to watch how it is being done on video or  by reading the instruction in words or in picture chart?

Crochet is a medium that I chose as a hobby to relax myself after a long day of work. It can free my mind from the stress I faced in life. It helps me to express and discover the beauty of the world. The products that I made out from crocheting could be practical (pot holder, bags, wears, etc) to my needs, decorating my home to my likes (cushion covers, sofa cover, curtains, bed covers), as unique gifts to my family and friends ( where in the world you can find another duplicates?) No two amigurui dolls that I’ve made are exactly the same!

So for those out there who are still puzzling and wonder whether to try crochet hobby craft, GO FOR IT! You won’t know if you like it until you try!
