Inspired by a Cross stich Work

The cross stitch has framed and display at my living room for quite awhile.

Cannot remember where I got the crochet design from. Was it a purchase or a gift? But I had the crocheted workpiece done more than 30 years ago. Could be a piece of cross stitch done during my early days when I was hooked onto cross stitching. well it is now hanged onto the wall of my living room and I almost glanced at it every night while I was watching TV at the living room.

Somehow I’ve got inspired by somebodies’ art pieces that combined color drawing with 3D crochet artwork. I wanted to create a piece of my own too. But I have not touch acrylic drawing for quite a while (my acrylic paint had dried up!), don’t see how I can reproduce the crochet drawing on canvas. Thinking of how I’m going to glue the 3D crocheted pieces onto the canvas is again another piece of challenge.

My idea got procrastinated for quite some time. There are always something in my way that prevented me from carry on with the thinking flow. Then it just occur to me on one day to remind myself to complete what I have always wanted to do.

Why not crochet the whole pieces, includes the background that hold my pot of crocheted flower.

Voila! Here comes the final outcome.

Well, it looks easy when you see the final product. However the planning and design stages took me quite a long time. To pick the right flower design took me sometime. The leaves ideas just comes with it once you have the crocheted flowers done. It only took me 2 days to crochet the back canvas (front and back) and assembling the flowers and leaves .
